What is Corporate News?

Corporate news is any type of news that relates to the business activities of a company. This includes both positive and negative information, such as press releases on product launches or employee appointments, as well as articles about competitors’ strategies and performance.

A good corporate news article will clearly state the key information, including a summary of the story, as well as any significant data or numbers. It will also include relevant quotes from spokespersons and/or experts. These can be public figures, reputable organizations, or company executives. The article will then explore the background and significance of the story. It is important that the article has clear bullet points at the top to allow busy journalists to grasp the key points without having to read further.

Despite the claims of many large news organizations, it is impossible to be completely objective or unbiased when reporting on any subject. This is because all news outlets have a point of view that they are promoting to their audience. In a democracy, it is necessary that multiple viewpoints be available to the people.

Corporate media censorship takes many forms, but it often involves “sins of omission” and not covering or following up on significant stories that challenge the status quo. Indirect censorship through underreporting can be as harmful as outright censorship, and this is one of the reasons why it is so crucial to support independent news sources. For example, the stories in Project Censored’s 2020-2021 story list often received extensive and well-reported coverage by a single news outlet but never saw the light of day in other corporate news outlets.
